This album- Doggy Style by Snoop Doggy Dog, and specifically this song Gin & Juice is significant to me for a variety of reasons. It was really the first time that totally got into an album that from where I came from wasn’t in the mainstream. Listening to it also played a big part in the bonding process with my roommate Kimberly from San Diego while we shared an apartment in Milan during my third stay there.I am still friends with her ’till this very day! We bonded over Snoop Dogg and our prissy Utah roommate Amanda among other things. This song also guided me to my drink of choice during the years of club hopping whilst globe hopping. I was always guaranteed that no matter where in the world a plane would spit me out, the next club I would set foot into would have gin, and they sure as hell would have some juice. |
So while searching on youtube for this song I came across this awesome spoof. It surely deserves a listen. Enjoy.
